Macon County’s greatest natural assets — the Nantahala National Forest and Appalachian Trail — lie just outside our front door. The Nantahala Hiking Club’s primary mission is to maintain 60 miles of the AT and another 40 miles of trails within the Nantahala National Forest, so that local residents and visitors alike may benefit from its blessings of peace, tranquility and beauty. The NHC boasts over 300 members, well over a 100 of whom volunteer regularly to brush the trail, remove wayward brush, manage fallen trees and maintain water flow so the trail can be safely enjoyed. In addition to trail maintenance, the club offers educational programs to adults and children.
As you can imagine, the work of the NHC takes thousands of hours each year of volunteer effort and financial resources to accomplish. I am inviting your business to participate in the club’s mission by becoming a corporate sponsor. For an annual donation of $250, your business will receive a window cling identifying you as a sponsor of this very important work. In addition, corporate sponsors will be acknowledge in each of our quarterly newsletters.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration. Your contribution will allow us to “Keep ever clear the open trails that lead to the mountaintops.” Rev. A. Rufus Morgan
