ISO: Leisurely Hikes

Al Levy describes himself as a healthy guy north of 80 years young. He is looking for folks to go along for a leisurely hike to places with good distant views anywhere from Franklin to Cashiers. He is retired and hoping to find someone to share convenient day hikes, especially in October when the weather is perfect to take in the views. Locations ideas include: Yellow Mountain from Cloud Catcher Lane, Whiteside Mountain, and Standing Indian Fire Tower. “Other places are fine with me,” he says.

The KEY is a leisurely hike, said Al. “I did one with Robin in July. It was fabulous but too rushed for an older fellow!” Contact Al by phone at 561-309-0088.

Sallie Ellinwood, 76, lives in Otto. She is looking for a hiking buddy who enjoys a hike of moderate pace and distance, with a few PUDS mixed in. She’s available to hike any day of the week with at least a day’s notice. She’d also up for traveling, even as much as 50 miles away if the trail is a good one. Sallie can be reached by text at 919.616.8325 to start a hiking conversation.

Oh, and Sallie says she can be a little tentative about stream crossings. She doesn’t like the idea of using logs (who can blame her) or rocks to get across streams and rivers. Intact bridges or very shallow streams are a must.
